Harbin
The annual ice festival may put Harbin squarely on the map, but much of it is best sampled during leisurely stroll in milder weather. A significant chunk of the historical architectures are infused with Baroque flavours, while you’ll find a template of multiculturalism in Harbin’s religious havens: orthodox churches, mosques, synagogues, and temples mingle together—the sights themselves might necessitate a double take to make sure you’re still in China.
